A woman in Kenfig Hill has been presented with a bouquet of flowers as a thank you for her invaluable help.
Susan Howlin stepped in to support her grieving father after his wife, Maureen, died of pancreatic cancer, the South Wales Echo reported.
Bernard George, 83, did not know how to organise the funeral and was badly shaken at the loss of his wife of 59 years.
Ms Howlin has been awarded the Echo Bouquet of the Week for the help she provided when she and her husband, Paul, took over the funeral arrangements and helped her father cope with his grief, even organising a break to Spain.
"I don’t think I will ever repay her and Paul for all they have done for me. She is my only daughter and she is truly heaven-sent," said Mr George, who nominated his daughter for the flowers.
Recently John Barancho threw a 50th birthday and thank you party for his business partner Paul Kabacinski, decorated with hundreds of yellow flowers, the Times Leader reported.
